Many campers want to be one with nature during their camping experience. Rustic and secluded campsites can sometimes be hard to find.
Arkansas being the Natural State makes for more rustic campsites. Some of the secluded campsites are difficult to get to but once a camper arrives there is no regret.
Rustic Campsites in Arkansas
Ozark National Forest Camping
One great campsite that would make anyone get the full nature camping experience is Richland Creek Campground. This campground is very rustic with a scenery of trees, creeks, water falls and wildlife. There are many hiking trails that lead to different creeks and waterfalls. The campsites at Richland Creek are scattered very farm from each other which makes a camper feel as if he or she is the only one camping.
Haw Creek Falls Campground is another great way to camp and see nature. There is a trail that leads to and passes through the Hurricane Creek Wilderness. A camper that decides to backpack into this wilderness is bound to see wildlife, beautiful sandstone bluffs, Hurricane Creek and old bridges.

Location of Richland Creek Campground
Richland Creek Campground is not an easy place to find. This rustic campground is located near Highway 16 and Forest Road 1205 which is just ten miles east of Ben Hur, Ark. One would follow Forest Road 1205 until campsites were in sight. Most of the campsites are located on the left side of the road which is the same side that the creek runs along.
An all-terrain vehicle is recommended because there is a lot of hills and it is a dirt road that is very rough.
Location of Haw Creek Falls Campground
Following Highway 123 north of Hagarville, Ark. will lead to the Haw Creek Falls Campground. The campground is easily accessible from the highway. The road is made for any vehicle and also by camping trailers.
